Last month, Pagani brought out its potent Huayra BC to the “old” Nurburgring in what was believed to be preparation for a future record lap attempt.

The Porsche 918 Spyder ie the globally homologated production car record holder at ‘Green Hell’ for the past three years and, alongside Koenigsegg, Pagani hopes to trounce the 918’s time with the Huayra BC.

Filmed on some of the circuit’s most famous sections, there’s no doubt the track-tuned Huayra looks incredibly fast. Despite being rear-wheel drive only, it remains completely composed throughout every corner, never loosing the slightest bit of traction.

Perhaps more remarkable than how fast the Huayra BC looks is just how stunning it is. In some scenes, it almost looks strange to see a rolling piece of Italian automotive art being tortured at such a dangerous and unforgiving racetrack.

If Pagani is to beat the 918’s record, it must dip below 6 minutes and 57 seconds. While the Huayra BC has 98 hp less than the 918, it also weighs nearly half a ton (460 kg) less, so logic suggests it has a very good chance of matching or even beating the Porsche.
