Less than a day after patent images of the base Alfa Romeo Stelvio surfaced online, a number of pictures have been snapped of three different base Stelvios on the street as well as one at the brand’s factory.

The first Stelvio, painted black, was pictured with FCA boss Sergio Marchionne posing alongside it and looks just like the patent images suggested. Alongside the black paint, it has been fitted with a set of gunmetal grey wheels and looks just as impressive as its sedan sibling.

A second black Stelvio was also pictured albeit it was sitting on silver wheels with a simplified 10-spoke design. Of the three however, the most impressive is a bright red example spotted on the move with silver wheels and black wheel arches and side skirts. Although not as aggressive as the range-topping Quadrifoglio, it is still an eye-catcher.

At this stage, it has been confirmed that alongside the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 of the Quadrifoglio, a 2.0-liter petrol turbo will be available for entry-level variants. It is almost certain that the 2.2-liter diesel of the Giulia will also be added to the range in the future.

Hat tip to our readers and Alfa Romeo Project 950 for the pics!
