Emergency services were called at the Los Angeles Convention Center, on Monday, after a test drive went wrong.
When they arrived at the scene, rescuers found eight injured people after a Fiat 500e, which was taken for a few short rounds outside the LA Auto Show by a potential client, mounted a curb and hit a planter that sent shards of concrete into the crowd, as LATimes writes.
Six of the injured bystanders, including the 24-year old driver, who is suspected of being unlicensed, were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The local fire department tweeted an image that shows the small Italian electric car with extensive damages on its front end, and a decal on its door that writes: “Drive today! At the Auto Show!“, in addition to a short video that shows the aftermath of the incident, published by NBC.
Test drives at the automotive event might have been suspended for the day, but they will continue throughout the week, until November 27, when the 2016th edition of the LA Auto Show will close its gates.
