MINI might be at the 2016 LA Auto Show, but BMW Group’s not-so-small car brand is also attending this year’s Essen Motor Show, in Germany.
Visitors of the event will get to see the latest selection of Original Accessories by John Cooper Works.
The new line of JCW accessories covers aerodynamics, cockpit design, suspension tweaks, and Brembo brakes, complimenting the 231 PS (228 HP) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine. 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) still comes in 6.3 seconds with a six-speed manual and 6.1 seconds with an automatic gearbox.
MINI has also played around with the Cooper S three-door and five-door hatch, as well as the Cooper S Convertible, which have received a JCW (John Cooper Works) tuning kit that brings 17- and 18-inch light alloy wheels, sports brake system, and a valve exhaust silencer said to “provide a distinctive acoustic background to this increase in temperament”.
The highlight though is the addition of a JCW tuning kit for the regular Cooper S models, upgrading the engine’s output from 192 PS (189 HP) to 211 PS (208 HP). Last, but definitely not least, the cars can also be specified with an aerodynamic package, side stripes, stickers, and a Track Fix mount for GoPro cameras.
