Roborace is continuing to test its fully-autonomous ‘DevBot‘ before the intriguing race series launches shortly as a support series for the FIA Formula E Championship.
On the back of the company’s prototype making its public testing debut back in August, the ambitious crew behind the race car hit the famed Silverstone circuit for a number of tests with a driver operating the car and others with DevBot driving itself.
The series was originally scheduled to commence at the start of the 2016-2017 Formula E championship, which started last month in Hong Kong. Due to development issues however, that didn’t eventuate. Despite the setbacks, the team is determined to make the championship a reality, helping to play a vital roll in the future of autonomous vehicles.
While DevBot looks like a prototype racer, the finished vehicles have an entirely unique design without a cockpit and created by the same man who brought us the Light Cycle from Tron:Legacy.
