If there’s a car that can hope to challenge the instant acceleration of the mighty Model S P100D flagship, it’s got to be the Porsche 911 Turbo S.

The one in question here is the older 997.2 version, which when standard, packs 530 PS (523 HP) to go with its 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque.

That being said, this Turbo S decided to make it even harder for the Tesla by putting down 600 HP and 600 lb-ft (813 Nm) thanks to its GIAC tune. As usual, you’ll have to watch the video in order to find out who won, but before you do, rest assured that both cars ran the 1/4 mile in the mid to high 10s at over 120 mph (193 km/h).

Despite the P100D being truly formidable, in the world of non-electric vehicles, it’s the 911 Turbo and Turbo S that stand tall above the rest when it comes to accelerating off the line quickly.

It’s why you hardly see them lose any drag races, especially when they’re packing even more power than what was initially assigned to them.
