We already knew that the Ferrari 488 GTB is a proper monster in terms of performance, but this is the first time we see an example being grabbed by the neck on the Internet’s ultimate battleground, the Nurburgring.
Sport Auto published an onboard video of the Ferrari 488 GTB lapping not only the Nurburgring in 7:21,63, but also the short configuration of Hockenheim as well, where it posted a very impressive 1:07,00, around two tenths faster than what a McLaren 675LT did on an earlier test there.
Powered by a twin-turbo 3.9-litre V8 that delivers 661hp and 561lb-ft of peak torque mated to a flippin’ fast seven-speed double-clutch transmission, the Ferrari 488 GTB offers some truly bonkers performance figures that question the very existence of more expensive hypercars.
0-62mph (100km/h) comes in 3 seconds flat, while 0-124mph (200km/h) is dealt in only 8.3 seconds before storming on to a top speed of 205mph (330km/h). Let’s not forget that this is the second cheapest model Ferrari currently produces, which makes the above figures even more mind-boggling.
