In spite of being a champion of big oil companies and members of his party attacking Elon Musk, it appears that President-elect Donald J Trump will meet with Tesla’s CEO after all.
As The Wall Street Journal reports, “Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk plans to be in attendance at President-elect Donald Trump’s meeting of tech-industry executives this Wednesday in New York, according to people familiar with the matter”.
This comes barely a week after Musk said that he’d be happy to meet with the next POTUS in response to a NYT columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin’s article.
Trump will meet with a number of high-profile CEOs like Apple’s Tim Cook, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Alphabet’s Larry Page, at the Trump Tower on Wednesday, December 14. It is thought that Peter Thiel, who co-founded Paypal with Elon Musk and is both an old friend of his and a member of Trump’s transition team, was the man who arranged for Tesla’s CEO to join them.
