A number of 2017 Ram 1500 pickup trucks will have to be returned to dealerships after company employees accidentally put Hemi badges on them.

Beneath the skin, entry-level petrol 2017 1500 models are installed with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. However, Automotive News reports that a number of examples where fitted with Hemi badges on the front wheel arches, indicating that the vehicles had the more powerful 5.7-liter Hemi V8.

Fortunately for Fiat Chrysler, the rather embarrassing mix up will be easy to resolve; the Hemi badges will simply be removed by service technicians.

In all likelihood, we suspect that some owners won’t be too upset with the issue and may choose to keep the badges and we wouldn’t blame them, pretending to have a V8 can be fun. Until you meet a real V8 Ram at the traffic lights that is.
