Ford is continuing to tempt the world with its new 2017 GT supercar before customer deliveries of the model commence next year.
In the almost two years since the GT’s dramatic debut at the Detroit Auto Show in 2015, Ford has released very few details about the American-born supercar. In fact, we still don’t have exact performance specifications about the model as Ford continues to hold its cards close to its chest.
Nevertheless, Ford has just released a short clip of the supercar undergoing high-speed testing in the U.S. at a banked circuit and its makes us want one even more.
According to the brand, the 600+ hp 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 powering the GT will allow it “to hit extraordinary speeds”. Just how fast will those speeds be? Well nobody outside of Ford knows but a figure near the 200 mph mark seems probable.
It isn’t yet known when Ford will reveal the 2017 GT in production guise let alone give members of the press the chance to drive it. However, with the Detroit Auto Show 2017 fast approaching, we may not have to wait long.
