It seems like the hotter variant of the Lamborghini Huracan has been in development for ages, with our spies spotting yet another prototype during some cold-weather testing.

The Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera -or whatever nameplate the Italian supercar maker uses this time- aims to offer a more intense experience for the driver thanks to the unbeatable mix of lower weight and more horsepower.

The hotter version of the Huracan is expected to be around 100kg/220lbs lighter than the regular model thanks to the increased use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials. The chassis will feature an upgraded suspension and braking system for the usual gains in performance.

As you can tell from the pictures in the gallery below, the bodywork will feature a much more aggressive aero agenda that includes a fixed rear wing, bigger air intakes and a huge rear diffuser which forced the exhaust to now come out from the middle of the rear fascia. One new feature that we haven’t seen so far is the set of these center-lock alloy wheels which match perfectly with the whole attitude of the car.

Similarly, the naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine will be upgraded to make slightly more power, with our intel talking about 650hp or 50hp more than the regular Huracan. Lamborghini is expected to finally reveal the angrier Huracan sometime in 2017, with our best guess to be at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
