Following a world premiere at the Beijing Auto Show, and after bowing in Paris this fall for its European debut, the facelifted Lexus IS is now available for order in the United Kingdom.
Kicking off the range in Europe’s largest right-hand drive market is the IS 300h SE, priced at £29,995 ($37,495), while 300h F Sport can be had from £34,745 ($43,430). The most expensive derivative wears the 200t F Sport moniker and adds the Premier Pack, with prices starting from £38,995 ($48,745).
Besides its visual improvements that bring it closer to the latest Lexus models, the brand’s BMW 3-Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class challenger has been equipped with a new infotainment system that utilizes a 10.3-inch screen for the Premium navigation. A redesigned instrument cluster, a set of cup holders, and a tweaked steering wheel are on the list of revisions for the 2017MY as well.
The updated brings suspension revisions across the entire range too, with Lexus claiming improved body control and better steering response at cruising speeds. The automaker has also reassessed and revised the electric power steering’s ECU for better steering control.
The Lexus Safety Sense+ pack, Lane Departure Alert, pre-crash brake assist, pre-crash braking, Automatic High Beam, Traffic Sign Recognition and Adaptive Cruise Control are offered as standard on all 2017 IS models, bar the entry-level IS300h SE.
Powertrain data remains unaffected by the facelift.
Lexus will start shipping the 2017 IS to UK customers from January.
