After getting struck by a Bus on a street in Reading, England, one Simon Smith got up almost immediately and went directly into a pub.
The footage is extremely frightening, and it’s genuinely hard to work out how somebody can get hit by such a large vehicle, thrown 20 feet (6 meters) and then stand up like nothing happened.
Yet that’s exactly what Mr Smith did, sustaining only cuts and bruises according to The Sun. He was later treated at a local hospital and basically escaped getting hit by a giant double-decker bus with only minor injuries.
The man even said that officers on the scene didn’t even believe his story at first, despite the fact that he was conscious throughout the entire ordeal.
“Originally they [police and medics] were all in agreement because if I had been hit by the bus, I wouldn’t be here. I said ‘ I’m sure the bus hit me’ and they kept saying ‘No you were hit by debris.”
“An officer then saw the CCTV at the pub and came back and said ‘I’m really sorry, you were right.”
The man also clarified that the reason why he entered the pub immediately was because he needed a place of refuge, though he did get around to grabbing a beer after getting discharged from the hospital.
As of right now, no arrests have been made as both the police and the bus company are still investigating what happened.
