BMW are working on expanding their current lineup, and one of the models that’s poised to hit showrooms, probably next year, is the X3 M.
Scooped while lapping the Nurburgring, the top-of-the-line version of the new generation premium compact SUV will take on rivals such as the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 which, in top in ‘S’ guise, produces as much as 510PS (503hp) and 700Nm (516lb-ft) of torque.
The X3 M will reportedly be powered new twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six unit, codenamed S58, and should put out more than 450 horses, according to recent sources. The same engine is also believed to be adopted by the next generation M3 and M4, although with higher outputs.
Currently in prototype form, the new BMW X3 M has yet to reveal its upgraded body kit, but expect wider front and rear bumpers, and large wheels, in addition to the tweaked chassis with stiffer suspension settings and bigger brakes over the regular models.
