With the absorption of Polestar, Volvo is getting serious about performance. And while it may take a while to catch the likes of Mercedes-AMG and BMW‘s M division, it’s moving at a faster rate all the time.
In fact the Swedish firm has tuned 12,000 of Gothenburg’s finest in the past five months alone. That’s an increase of 30 percent compared to last year, and has helped Polestar crest the 100,000 mark at a quickening pace.
Aside from complete performance vehicles like the S60 and V60 Polestar, the performance counterpart to Cyan Racing offers optimization for a wide range of Volvo models – chief among them the V60, XC60, and XC90, which have proven hot sellers for the manufacturer in China, Sweden, and the United States.
A new package is in the works for the all-new XC60 as well, and is set to be released next month.
