While the one millionth Porsche 911 built will remain cooped up at the Porsche Museum, the 999,999th 911 was recently delivered to its fortunate owner in Canada.
The car, a 911 Targa 4 GTS painted in Guards Red, certainly isn’t as valuable as the millionth but it is undeniably special and according to owner Rob Tenuta, is “a keeper.”
“This is my third Porsche. I got a Cayman in 2006 and a 911 Turbo in 2011. When I heard that my Targa 4 GTS would be such a special car, I said to myself, ‘This baby’s a keeper.’ As it so happens, this was the first time that I had a car configured to meet my wishes,” Tenuta said.
Porsche introduced the 991.2 facelift Targa 4 GTS back in January and like all other GTS-badged variants, it uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six in place of the old naturally-aspirated 3.8-liter. The engine is smaller but it has 20 hp of additional grunt and now delivers 450 hp and 550 Nm of torque.
