Subaru is bringing the new generation Impreza to Frankfurt this September for its pan-European debut.

Set to be unveiled on September 12, the all-new Subaru Impreza is the company’s second model to be based on their Global Platform.

The company claims that their new Global Platform represents a major step from the previous model as it’s 70 percent stiffer and improves crash energy absorption by 40 percent. Subaru was also able to re-engineer the suspension and further lower the Impreza’s center of gravity.

The new Subaru Impreza also features the latest EyeSight safety tech, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Lane Departure and Sway Warning, plus a Lane Keep Assist function as standard.

The trademark Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and the flat-four engine lineup also remain, but we’ll have to wait until September to find out if Subaru is going to add more powertrain options to the Impreza’s European range. US-spec models are offered with a revised 152hp 2.0-litre petrol engine with direct injection.

Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
