If you’re reading these pages on a regular basis, chances are you’re coming across more than the occasional story about Porsches. But what if the screen on which you were viewing this site was also designed by Porsche?
That’s the prospect presented by the latest monitors from AOC. The Taiwanese electronics company has partnered with Porsche Design for its latest series of computer screens.
Available in 24- and 27-inch diameters, the AOC PDS monitors are decidedly minimalist in design. Not only do they feature a thin frame and sleek stand, but they integrate the power and connection cables into a single unit to keep clutter down to a minimum.
“The expressive shape of the monitor stand emphasizes the simple idea of integrating the cables into the stand,” said Henning Rieseler, Head of Studio F. A. Porsche Berlin. “The form not only follows the function, but celebrates it through its asymmetrical shape in an elegant and sophisticated way.”
The monitors are also engineered to cover a wider range of colors – covering 100 percent of sRGB and 90 percent of NTSC shades – and a viewing angle of 178 degrees. LowBlue Mode and FlickerFree technologies also make the images they display as easy on the eyes as the design in which they’re framed.
AOC’s PDS241 and PDS271 launched this month on Amazon for $199 and $249 respectively.
