These are the first photos of the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Speedster, the latest limited model to come out of the celebrated British-Italian collaboration.
If you thought that the “regular” Vanquish Zagatos were rare, you better come up with a new term for the Speedster version as the plan is to produce just 28 examples.
Compared to the Volante version, the Speedster has ditched the rear seats and the folding roof, making it a true two-seater that’s probably a bit lighter too than its four-seater sibling. As you can see the rear deck is now hosting two buttresses behind the driver and passenger that manage to blend in beautifully with the rest of the design.
The Vanquish Zagato Speedster will be powered by the same naturally aspirated 592hp 5.9-liter V12 used in the Coupe and Volante, which means it should wake the dead with its sound on full chat.
If by watching these photos, you feel the urge to grab your cheque book and head to an Aston Martin dealer, you are probably too late as our intel tells us that all 28 examples are already spoken for. As you would expect from a car like this, pricing starts at £1.3 million ($1.7 million in current exchange rates).
