Hyundai will open the order books for the new Kona subcompact SUV on November 2 in the United Kingdom, with official pricing and range details going public.
The base model comes from £16,195 ($21,514), powered by a 1.0-liter T-GDi petrol engine that delivers 120PS (118hp) via a six-speed manual gearbox.
Some of the standard features equipping it are the 16-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler with integrated LED brake light, automatic headlights, LED DRLs, air-con with rear air vents, cruise control with speed limiter, and electrically adjustable heated side mirrors. It also has a 5-inch LCD center console display, DAB, Bluetooth, six speakers, USB, AUX, multi-function steering wheel, and supervision instrument cluster with 3.5-inch screen.
Moving up the range allows customers to order the SE, which comes at a £1,300 ($1,727) premium over the entry-level S. It’s powered by the same engine as its lesser sibling, but it adds a bunch of extra features, such as reversing camera and rear parking sensors, , Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, fog lamps, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, and electric driver’s seat lumbar support.
The 2018 Hyundai Kona Premium can be had from £18,795 ($24,968), with its 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome grim, silver rear skid plate and side body moldings, automatic climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, rear privacy glass, keyless entry&go, Krell premium audio system, and wireless phone charging pad, among others.
Priced from £21,195 ($28,156), the Kona Premium SE builds on the aforementioned model, to which it adds leather seat facings, electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, heated steering wheel, rear center armrest, power folding side mirrors, head-up display, and front parking sensors.
At the upper end of the family is the Kona Premium GT, with its £24,440 ($32,467) starting price. It uses a 1.6-liter GDi engine rated at 177PS (175hp) and married to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that pushes the output to a four-wheel drive system, while the spec list includes LED headlights with high beam assist, LED taillights, supervision instrument cluster with 4.2-inch display, and Safety Pack with Autonomous Emergency Braking and pedestrian recognition.
