If early indications are anything to go by, it appears as though Elon Musk’s gamble on tackling the trucking industry could be paying off.

Last month, the outspoken entrepreneur unveiled the all-electric Tesla Semi with a 500-mile range and the promise of revolutionizing the way trucks move. According to Green Car Reports, Tesla may have already secured 1,230 reservations for the truck.

An image posted on Instagram by an outdoor living and construction firm shows the webpage those who place a Semi reservation are directed to. On this webpage, it includes the reservation number, reading EO000001230.

No one outside Tesla knows if the reservation numbers are sequential but it is very possible that they are. It is also possible that multiple trucks can be reserved with a single reservation number, Green Car Reports indicates.

In recent days, a number of companies have publicized the pre-orders they have placed for the Tesla Semi, including Anheuser-Busch, Sysco, and Wal-Mart.

Reserving an entry-level Tesla Semi requires a $20,000 deposit. If the automaker has indeed secured at least 1230 reservations for this amount, that would total $24.6 million. However, that figure is probably much higher as some Semi orders would be for the Founders Series model that requires a $200,000 reservation.
