Spy photographers have already snapped photos of the redesigned Nissan Frontier, but now we’re getting a glimpse inside the upcoming pickup.

Looking far better than its predecessor, which debuted over a decade and half ago, the redesigned Frontier is thoroughly modern as it features higher quality materials, an improved design and new switchgear.

Drivers sit behind a Titan-esque steering wheel and find themselves looking at large analog gauges. To their right is an all-new dashboard which is topped by a touchscreen infotainment system with massive bezels. While the screen looks pretty small, there are dedicated buttons as well as rubberized knobs with metallic accents.

Further below, there’s a push-button ignition, a four-wheel drive selector and controls for the dual-zone automatic climate control system. We can also see the 2021 Frontier will be more luxurious as it features heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

Elsewhere, the truck has a metallic ‘grab handle’ and a console-mounted shifter. Designers also installed vertical air vents and a classier passenger side dashboard which features contrast stitching.

The exterior is expected to borrow some cues from the Titan, but thankfully the model will eschew its massive grille. However, there will be pronounced fender flares, curvier bodywork and vertical taillights.

Nissan hasn’t said much about the truck, but we already know it will be powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine that develops 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 281 lb-ft (381 Nm) of torque. Nissan installed the engine in the 2020 Frontier where it’s paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and an optional four-wheel drive system.

The redesigned truck will be built in Canton, Mississippi and Nissan has previously said it will be launched sometime next year.
