The McLaren 570S was subjected to a standing-mile test, proving once more that, nowadays, there is a very thin line between sports and super cars.
Set loose at the Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds in Florida two years ago, but with the video only recently uploaded, the 570S hit a top speed of just a little over 190 mph (306 km/h) at the end of the course. Mind you, that is not far off the more powerful (and expensive) 720S, which had an exit speed of 195 mph (314 km/h).

The entire run was filmed from the cockpit, and for better comparison to the bigger and more powerful 720S, we’ve shared the standing-mile speed test of the Super Series model too. Now, before moving on to the clips, let’s take another look at the spec sheet of the 570S, which is part of the McLaren’s Sports Series range and sits between the entry-level 540C and the hardcore 600LT.
With 562 HP (570 PS / 419 kW) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque produced by its twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8, the 570S can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds from a standstill and 124 mph (200 km/h) in 9.5 seconds, and has a 204 mph (328 km/h) top speed.
The 720S, on the other hand, has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 making 710 HP (720 PS / 530 kW) and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm), and is 0.3 seconds quicker to 62 mph (100 km/h) than the 570S. The 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) sprint takes 7.8 seconds, and flat-out, it will do 212 mph (341 km/h).
