We already knew that the 2020 Corvette Stingray was fast, but now we have even more info than just its 0-60 mph time.
While Chevrolet has been pretty open about the new Corvette and willing to discuss its performance, it elected to keep its quarter-mile time a secret.
However, an attendee at the ongoing Corvettes at Carlisle event in Pennsylvania and Corvette Forum member was able to snap some photos of a C8 booklet being carried around by GM staff at the event. Within this booklet are a number of previously-unknown details about the new mid-engine supercar.

Most significantly, the car is listed down with an 11.3-second quarter mile at 121 mph (194 km/h). That is quick. Seriously quick. In fact, the 650 HP Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE requires 11.4-seconds, and it has in excess of 150 hp more than the Corvette. Similarly, the C7-generation ‘Vette Z06 is only a few tenths faster than the base C8 despite also having 650 hp. The booklet doesn’t specify if the quoted Corvette’s quarter-mile time is with or without the available Z51 Performance package and exhaust.
It is pretty clear that the added weight of having a 6.2-liter V8 in the C8 mounted behind the cabin increases traction off the line, playing some part in the car’s ferocious acceleration times that include a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) sprint of just 2.9 seconds. In addition, the presence of a quick-shifting eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and short gear ratios are other very important pieces in the puzzle.
