Supercar ownership in the early 2010s was about as good as it got whenever a limited edition Lamborghini Gallardo was involved.
Take this 2014 Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse for example, for sale through Mecum Auctions, starting June 23. Only 15 such units were built for the U.S. market, all of them with this Giallo Midas (yellow) exterior paint. As for the world, a total of 50 cars were made, in either Giallo Midas, Rosso Mars, Grigio Thalasso or Bianco Monocerus.
So what makes the Squadra Corse special? Well, let’s start by saying that this was the final street legal version of a Gallardo race car – namely the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo.

It boasts the same 5.2-liter 562 HP V10 engine as the Super Trofeo racer, which together with a 6-speed E-gear transmission will take you from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a little over 3.0 seconds, and from zero to 124 mph (200 km/h) in a just 10.4 seconds.
Unlike regular Gallardo models of their era, the Squadra Corse came with a removable carbon fiber engine cover (with quick-release), new front and rear bumpers, carbon fiber rear wing, carbon-ceramic brakes, Tricolore decals on the sides, high-gloss black 19-inch wheels, and a choice of three colors for the calipers (red, black, yellow).
As for its black and yellow-themed interior, you get a plethora of carbon fiber and Alcantara, to go with a sound system, air conditioning plus all the convenience features you’d expect from a 7 year-old street legal exotic.
Unfortunately, the mileage on the car isn’t specified in the ad.
