Power will be provided by the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine from the two models mentioned above, offered in two outputs: 250 PS (246 HP / 184 kW) and 275 PS (271 HP / 202 kW). The Kona N is tipped to be offered in the higher output, which makes more sense, given that one of its biggest rivals, the Volkswagen T-Roc R, has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit that develops 300 PS (296 HP / 221 kW).
Hyundai’s N performance brand has worked on other aspects of the car that will further separate it from the regular Konas, which are in the process of being facelifted. The sporty variant will be equipped with a specific body kit comprising of a modified front bumper with larger air intakes, rear bumper with incorporated diffuser and cutouts for the dual exhaust pipes, and a roof-mounted wing. The ‘N’ badges, big wheels and unique color choices will complete the design.
A different suspension setup is also expected, which will help it go around corners faster, alongside upgraded brakes.
