It was always a matter of time before Dodge decides to offer a Charger with the Redeye powertrain and that time is now: meet the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye.

The recipe is pretty simple in this case, as Dodge took the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine from the Challenger Redeye and dropped it under the hood of the Charger, complete with its 797 HP and 707 lb-ft (958 Nm) of torque.

Dodge describes the new Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye as the “world’s most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan”, with the quarter-mile coming in 10.6 seconds at 129 mph (207 km/h) and a top speed of 203 mph (326 km/h). 0-60 mph comes in the mid-3s.

In addition, the 2021 Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye will be available only with the Widebody exterior, a set of 20×11 lightweight Carbon Black wheels shod in 305/35 tires, and a newly designed performance hood with functional air intakes.

Dodge used some Demon hardware to the engine and the eight-speed automatic transmission, including a larger supercharger, stronger connecting rods and pistons, high-speed valvetrain, a new fuel injection system, an improved lubrication system, and an upgraded torque converter.

The carmaker also added the SRT Power Chiller, which diverts the air-conditioning from the cabin to the intake to drop the air and coolant temperature for improved performance. Another feature is the Race Cooldown, which allows the engine to run in its optimum operating temperature by keeping the engine’s cooling fan and circuit coolant pump running. The driver can even track the coolant temperature in real-time via the infotainment system.

The interior of the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye comes with Laguna leather seats that can be optionally dressed partly with Alcantara. Both the seats and the console also feature silver stitching, with the cabin decorated with Light Black Chrome accents, a 220-mph red speedometer, and plenty of SRT Hellcat Redeye logos scattered around.

Standard equipment includes adaptive suspension, Launch Assist and Launch Control, Torque Reserve -which prefills the intake with boost-, and of course Line Lock for easy and risk-free burnouts.

The 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye will become available for order this fall, with the first cars scheduled to arrive in dealerships in early 2021.
