Ford has issued another recall for the Bronco Sport, this time due to a problem with the optional moonroof.
A recall report issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that the glass panel can separate from the vehicle while it is being driven, increasing the risk of a “road hazard, injury, or crash.” Ford has determined the cause of the problem to be insufficient primer curing time given prior to the moonroof frame being installed. This results in inadequate adhesion to the glass.
A total of 1,036 Bronco Sport models built between April 27, 2021 and May 25, 2021 are being recalled. It is estimated that 233 of them have moonroof glass panels with inadequate adhesion to the moonroof frame.

Four warranty claims about this issue had been reported to Ford as of October 8, 2021 but the automaker says it is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries.
Owners will be notified by mail from November 29 and instructed to contact a Ford or Lincoln dealership to have the moonroof glass date code inspected. If the date code falls between April 23 and April 24, 2021, the moonroof will be replaced free of charge.
This is the third time the Bronco Sport has been recalled this year. In February, Ford announced a recall for vehicles built between July 22, 2020 and November 24, 2020 as they were assembled with rear suspension modules with loose or missing bolts. In March, the Bronco Sport was recalled for a second time as some examples had been fitted with incorrect front lower control arms.
