The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ is one of the fastest and most exciting performance sedans money can buy, which sounds like bread and butter for tuners like Brabus. After launching the Brabus 800 last year, the German-tuner presented the even more powerful Brabus 900 as their flagship tuning kit for the E-Class.
Starting with the important stuff under the bonnet, AMG’s twin-turbo V8 engine has received a number of modifications making it significantly more powerful. The capacity has been increased from 4.0-liters to 4.5-liters, with larger pistons and increased bore and stroke, while the upgrades also include a new pair of turbochargers, a modified intake system, and new software, combined with a high-performance exhaust system.

As a result, the Brabus 900 produces an impressive 888 hp (662 kW / 900 PS) and 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) of torque which is limited to 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft). Still, that is 285 hp (212 kW / 288 PS) and 200 Nm (147.5 lb-ft) of torque, more than in the E 63 S from the Affalterbach factory.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission and the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system. The massive power increase has a noticeable effect on performance with a 0-100 km/t (0-62 mph) acceleration in 2.8 seconds and a top speed limited to 330 km/h (205 mph) in order to protect the tires. This is 0.5 seconds quicker and 30 km/h (19 miles) faster than the stock E63 S.

Visually, the BMW M5 rival gets a blacked-out treatment with a subtle bodykit justifying the term “wolf in sheep’s clothing” as noted by Brabus. Besides the carbon fiber bits (splitter, grille, intakes, diffuser, lip spoiler, etc), and the quad pipes of the stainless steel exhaust system, the main difference with the stock sedan is the 21-inch ten-spoke Monoblock Platinum Edition Z forged wheels shod in ContiSportContact 6 tires (256/30 R21 front and 305/25 R21 rear). Brabus claims improved handling in combination with the modified air suspension that is lowered by 20 mm (0.8 inches).
Inside, Brabus is offering fine leather upholstery combined with Alcantara in many available colors. Buyers can also opt for Brabus Race paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, aluminum pedals, door-lock pins, and illuminated stainless scuff plates matching the ambient lighting. The Brabus 900 is available both as a complete turn-key car or in the form of a tuning package for any owners of the current Mercedes-AMG 63 S 4Matic+. The German tuner didn’t reveal pricing but we suspect it will be quite expensive judging from the extent of mechanical modifications.
