The refreshed 2025 RAM 1500 is now open for orders, offering a departure from the HEMI V8 to embrace a range of more efficient powertrains. As we gear up to test-drive it before deliveries commence, what specific details would you like to learn about this latest pickup truck offering from Stellantis?
We’ll be in Austin, Texas next week to drive the new RAM 1500 on and off-road and we’re looking forward to all of the new tech baked into these trucks. Notably, this is more of a facelift than it is a whole new generation, but the changes are still quite dramatic.
On the internal combustion front, the thunderous 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is making way for a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. In its base configuration, this engine churns out 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque, with a high-output variant boasting 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. It’s the same as the one we’ve seen in the Jeep Grand Wagoneer where it produces 420 or 510 horsepower, so we expect good things.
The lineup also includes a carryover Pentastar 3.6-liter V6, featuring the 48-volt eTorque hybrid system, delivering 305 horsepower. This engine serves as the base option for the truck.

The body has undergone changes as well, sporting a more slender appearance at the front, highlighted by a slightly enlarged grille and new LED headlamps, while the rear boasts “jeweled” tail lights. Interior updates are mainly cosmetic and vary depending on the trim level.
In any case, we’re excited to see all of the new technology applied in the 2025 RAM 1500. On offer are features like a front passenger infotainment system, again, like we’ve seen in other Jeep products. RAM will also sell the 1500 with front seats that feature 24-way power adjustment, heating, ventilation, and a massage function too. A portrait-oriented 14.5-inch center infotainment system is also available.

Sadly, we won’t have the chance to drive the RAM 1500 REV battery electric truck or the RAM 1500 Ramcharge, but both will be on hand for photos and video collection. Should you want a closer look at the details, let us know in the comments as well.
