It’s the same ol’ story; overzealous valet takes exotic supercar for a quick spin and it ends up in tears, or in this case, in flames.
According to social media accounts, a valet at Miami Beach’s South Beach neighborhood took the keys to a Lamborghini Aventador, but instead of parking the $400,000+ supercar, he took it for a ride around the block and revved the engine a little too forcefully, causing the car to catch on fire.
The incident reportedly happened last year, on December 29, at the busy intersection of Lincoln Road and Michigan Avenue, with at least one person filming the V12 powerplant being revved before bursting into flames.
The valet wasn’t hurt – physically, but you can tell from his movements in the video and the still shots taken at the scene with his hands on his head that he wishes he could turn back time and slap some sense to himself.
Well, if it’s any comfort, he should know that he’s not alone as he joins a long and diverse list of valets who have been lured by performance car sirens, from this Washington D.C. guy who enjoyed a BMW M4 to the Corvette C7 speedster in California and the Le Meridian hotel employee in India.
