In typical Fiat Group fashion, despite the fact that the new Lancia Ypsilon received its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show close to three months ago, the company waited until today to release a full gallery of pictures. There are more than 70 photographs showing the Italian supermini mostly in its natural habitat, the city. Along with the new images, Lancia also offered new information on its entry-level model, which will be launched from June in major European markets and from September in the United Kingdom and Ireland, where it will wear the Chrysler logo.

The 3.84-meter long Ypsilon will be available with a choice of four engines. At launch, customers will be able to choose from three of them: the 69HP 1.2-liter petrol engine, the 85HP 0.9-liter TwinAir unit and the 95HP 1.3-liter Multijet II turbodiesel engine. Later on, a bi-fuel (petrol and LPG) version of the 1.2-liter unit will be added to the range.

Buyers will be able to customize the mini through three interior trim levels (Silver, Gold and Platinum), 16 liveries (4 of which are two-tone), 6 different upholstery trims, 3 types of alloy wheels and 3 engines, for a total of 600 possible combinations.

Standard equipment on the Silver trim level includes remote-controlled central locking, electric front windows, height and reach-adjustable steering wheel, 50/50 split rear seat, height-adjustable driver seat, fabric upholstery, 15-inch steel wheels, a radio set-up and rear heated window.

The Gold version adds a manual climate control, radio with CD and MP3 player, electric door mirrors, steering wheel and gearshift lever covered in leather, Castiglio upholstery and Comfort Pack. On top of that, the Platinum trim level adds rear electric windows, fog lights, 15-inch alloy wheels, rear seat head restraints and leather upholstery. Across the range, safety equipment consists of ABS with EBD, ESP with ASR and Hill Holder, front and side airbags and Isofix attachments.

Optional extras include the “Blue&Me-TomTom LIVE” infotainment and navigation system, Magic Parking assist technology, Smart Fuel system (eliminates the classic tank cap), Bi-Xenon headlights, LED taillights and exclusive 16-inch wheels. The Lancia Ypsilon will be offered with a warranty of up to 8 years.
