The first official photos and details of the revamped Bentley Continental GTC convertible are out in the open, courtesy of Autoblog.com, which apparently received a little love from the German-owned-and-controlled British automaker with the early distribution of the press material.

While the website hastily removed the premature post, someone forgot to pull down the photos, which you can check out in all their glory by clicking here (we don’t know for how long).

The new Continental GTC gains the refreshed body we first saw on the coupe model with the most prominent changes taking place up front that features a Mulsanne-style nose.

From the press release we learn that it also gets a more powerful version of the 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 FlexFuel engine, which can run on E85 biofuel, petrol or any combination of the two.

The twelve-cylinder unit delivers 575PS (567bhp/423kW) and 700Nm (516lb ft) of torque allowing the convertible to accelerate from zero to 60mph in 4.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds), and 0 to 100mph in 10.9 seconds (0 – 160km/h 10.9 seconds), en route to a top speed of 195 mph (314 km/h).

Bentley also noted that the overall weight saving over the GTC’s predecessor is 70kg (154lb). Other changes include wider tracks and a new 40:60 rear-biased torque split for the all-wheel drive system, which the company claims, reduces understeer “when powering out of bends and provides for better modulation of line and attitude by ‘throttle steering”.

The facelifted Continental GTC will make its world premiere at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
