Ferrari seems to be hell bent on replacing its entire lineup in just two years time. In 2010, Maranello revealed the F430’s successor, the gorgeous 458 Italia. This year, the not-so-beautiful (to put it nicely) 612 Scaglietti gave its place to the brand’s first ever four-wheel-drive sports GT, the shooting-brake-bodied FF.
And only three days ago, the Italians debuted the F430 Spider’s replacement, the 458 Italia Spider featuring a retractable hard top that will make its world premiere at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
Only the 599 GTB Fiorano is left of the old guard –and by “old” we mean just four years, since the 599 was launched in 2007 so it is by no means getting long in the tooth even by normal car standards. In addition, special editions such as the HGTE and the GTO, have made it even better.
However, it too will soon be replaced by a newer model that will share its V12 with the FF, but will be a strictly two-seater with rear wheel drive. The 599 replacement, code-named F152, may be revealed as early as the Geneva Motor Show next March and has already been caught testing wearing a camouflaged 599 GTO body.
One such prototype can be seen in the following video going round Ferrari’s Fiorano test track.
