Honda has already provided us with a lot of information on the European market 2012 Civic that will be revealed at the Frankfurt motor show in about two weeks’ time. But today, the Japanese carmaker released the first picture of the actual production car.
The cropped teaser photo shows the hatchback model’s tailgate and rear lights, which appear to follow a similar styling theme to the U.S. market Accord Crosstour.
The European market Honda Civic, which bears no resemblance to the US model, will be available at launch as a five-door hatchback with engine options including a revised 2.2-liter i-DTEC engine generating 150-horsepower.
Production of the hatchback model will take place exclusively at Honda’s Swindon plant in the United Kingdom.
The Japanese company said that the new Civic will be joined by the facelifted version of its Insight hybrid.
