One of Carscoop’s alert readers managed to scoop these two photographs of what we believe to be a prototype of the next generation of the BMW 3-Series sedan out testing in Los Angeles.
This is the sixth generation of BMW‘s hugely popular sports sedan model. Aside from the evolutionary styling changes, the big news for the F30 3-Series is the introduction of a new range of four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engines with a displacement of 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter delivering between 135HP and 245-horsepower.
BMW’s turbocharged six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines will also be on offer.
The sedan model will arrive in showrooms next year while Munich puts the finishing touches on the rest of the range that will swell to include a Touring (BMW talk for station wagon), a two-door coupe, a five-door GT liftback, a convertible and of course, the crown glory of the series, the M3.
Special thanks to Cary T. for the scoop pictures!
