Audi Motorsport is offering customer teams the opportunity to order the racing version of the TT RS. The car has been developed by Quattro GmbH and Audi’s technical development department for the SP4T class of the VLN Endurance Championship.

The TT RS has been tested for a year and claimed victory in its class at last June’s 24 Hours of Nürburgring endurance race as well as pole position and class victory at the 6-hour race at the same track at the end of August.

“In the TT RS Audi is making the next attractive customer sport race car available to interested teams,” said Head of Audi Sport customer racing Romolo Liebchen. “The TT RS has been designed for a wide range of racing conditions and easy handling: it perfectly mastered the load of the 24-hour race while being able to prove its exceptionally forgiving handling characteristics in the constantly changing weather conditions of the 6-hour race.”

The motorsport-spec TT RS is powered by a 380HP version of the production car’s 2.5-liter five-cylinder unit. However, unlike the quattro AWD production version, power is directed to the front wheels only via a six-speed sequential transmission with steering-mounted paddles.

Audi has honed the bodywork in order to achieve maximum downforce and aerodynamic efficiency. In addition, there is an adjustable racing suspension with a wide range of settings that allows teams to adapt the car to different tracks and conditions.

The TT RS is readily available by Audi Sport at the price of €180,000 (US$249,000). Quattro GmbH managing director Werner Frowein stressed that his division will also “provide optimal support to our customers, who will also benefit from our experience with the R8 LMS and the extensive testing program we completed with the TT RS.”
