While Porsche brought along a variety of cars to the 2011 edition of Frankfurt Motor Show such as the 500-horsepower strong 911 GT3 RS 4.0, the Cayman S Black Edition and Panamera V6 Diesel, the model that is receiving all the attention is of course the brand new 911.

Codenamed 991, the latest generation of the world’s longest running sports car series looks a lot like the outgoing model though it does get a modified rear end design featuring newly shaped tail lamps. But then again, evolution is the name of the game when it comes to Porsche and its 911 series.

Bypassing the exterior styling, the latest 911 also features a revamped interior heavily inspired from the Panamera, as well as a new chassis with a 100mm longer wheelbase than the soon to be phased out 997.

The 991 has already launched in Europe where it is currently available in two forms, the basic Carrera with a 350HP 3.4-liter flat-six, and the Carrera S with a 400HP 3.8-liter flat-six.
