The cost of owning the TT Coupe has just become a little cheaper for British buyers as Audi has launched a new entry-level variant powered by the smaller 1.8-liter TFSI petrol engine which is already offered on the Roadster model.
The TT Coupe 1.8 TFSI is offered in both “Sport” and “S Line” guises with on-the-road prices starting from £24,070, or £3,070 less than the equivalent 2.0 TFSI model.
The four-cylinder turbocharged engine delivers 160-horses from 4,500rpm and a 250Nm (184 lb-ft) of peak torque from 1,500rpm through to 4,500rpm.
The front-wheel-drive TT Coupe 1.8 TFSI with a six-speed manual gearbox completes the 0-62mph (100km/h) sprint in 7.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 140mph (225 km/h). The double-clutch S tronic model reduces the acceleration time to 7.1 seconds and can achieve the same top speed. Both transmission variants return an identical combined economy figure of 44.1mpg UK.
Standard features on the Sport models include 17-inch alloy wheels, electronic climate control, leather and Alcantara combination upholstery and a Concert audio system with single CD player and MP3/iPod connectivity.
Upgrading to the S line trim will get you 18-inch alloy wheels, a lowered sports suspension, a short-shift gearbox for manual versions, S line exterior and interior detailing and xenon headlights with LED daytime running lamps.
