It’s almost time for the official unveiling of the production version of the Toyota FT-86 rear-wheel drive coupe, which means you should probably brace yourself for a barrage of photos and details over the next few weeks.
The first wave comes through a set of leaked brochure scans that seem to be legit. The FT-86 depicted in these pictures is the Japanese domestic market Modellista version that has been accessorized by Toyota’s in-house customization company.
Among other bespoke features that you won’t see on the base model is the exterior aero package that comprises of a front spoiler, beefier side skirts and a two-piece rear apron, along with the model-specific alloy wheels.
If these scans are indeed real, then Toyota has once again altered the exterior styling of the FT-86.
Compared to the most recent concept version shown at the Geneva and Frankfurt Motor Shows, at the front, the coupe gets redesigned headlamps and a new front bumper design that loses the tear drop-style LEDs, while at the back, both the tail lights and the rear bumper feature new designs.
The brochure also give us our very first look at the FT-86’s interior, which in the Modellista’s case, is trimmed in red accents.
No word on the powertrain details yet, but we’ll keep an eye open and post any new updates.
Kudos to Cristi S. for the tip!
