Want to see the upcoming 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo in some live action? Here’s our first video of the convertible model filmed while Stuttgart’s engineers were flogging a lightly camouflaged prototype around the Nürburgring test track.

The quad tail pipes seen on the test car suggest that it may be the more potent Turbo S model equipped with an upgraded version of the turbocharged flat-six producing an estimated output of around 550-horses.

All those ponies will be put on the road through a seven-speed manual gearbox or optionally, Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, and an all-wheel drive system.

Along with the all the goods from the normal 991 such as the longer wheelbase and lighter construction, the soft-top Turbo model also gains a wider body with bespoke aero parts including a large rear wing.

We figure we’ll probably have to wait a few months to see both the coupe and convertible models of the new 911 Turbo series. Until then, check out our latest scoop video below.
