It ain’t the NSX replacement that many were expecting to see at this year’s edition of the Tokyo Motor Show, but it is a sports cars – albeit one in a small package and with a pure electric drivetrain.

Honda dropped the first official sketches of the provisionally named Small Sports EV Concept before it makes its debut in person and in the flesh at the Tokyo Motor Show floors on November 30.

Frustratingly, the Japanese automaker released close to nothing about the targa-top sports car. All we get from Honda is this Spartan press blurb:

“A next-generation EV sports model which maximizes the fun of driving while achieving excellent environmental performance.” Yes, that explains everything…

From what we can tell by looking at the trio of renderings, the two-seater model appears to introduce new styling cues such as the front end design, but we’ll have to wait a couple of weeks to find out for sure.
