During the media presentation of the tweaked 2013MY GT-R (to be sold as a 2012 model in markets outside North America) at the Sugo International Race Circuit in Japan, Nissan Chief Vehicle Engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno told journalists that the updated model has the potential to turn the Nürburgring circuit in under 7 minutes and 20 seconds.
We’ll remind you that the revised 2012MY GT-R shaved more than two seconds off the time of the 2011MY version dropping it from 7:26.4″ to 7:24.22″.
“We have a car that has the potential to go from 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) in under 3 seconds, lap the Nurburgring in less than 7 minutes 20 seconds, and cruise at speeds of 300 kilometers per hour,” said Mizuno.
“For 2012 [2013MY for the States], the lap time on the track has improved and the speed through corners is better, yet for the driver it feels more comfortable and easier to control. I think we’re getting close to making the ideal car,” he added.
