In the fifth installment of the Nissan Juke-R video series, the Japanese automaker gives us an insight into the problems that arose while trying to fit the GT-R’s gearbox and all-wheel drive system into the small crossover.
The most significant challenge had to do with the Juke-R’s wheelbase that is 250mm shorter than the GT-R’s.
Nissan says that the engineers behind the Juke-R project handled this issue by installing shorter prop shafts, while also making several other necessary changes to keep the GT-R’s rigidity and handling.
The GT-R-powered Juke-R is expected to make its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of November, though we wouldn’t be surprised if Nissan showed the project earlier at the LA Auto Show.
