The 30 or so Sonic and Cruze concepts along with the numerous Camaro project cars that have been presented at this week’s SEMA Show, haven’t stopped the flow of new Chevrolet exhibits in Las Vegas.

As you can probably guess by its name, the Sonic Boom is all about sound. The subcompact model features an audio system developed by Chevrolet and Kicker with its design and component placing said to be inspired by jet engines.

A high-end head unit controls the 4,000 Watts Kicker system that includes no less than 10 six-inch mid-range speakers and two 15-inch subwoofers.

“This concept reflects the interests of a new generation of car enthusiasts who judge a car as much by the output of the sound system as the output of the engine,” said Chris Perry, vice president of global marketing and strategy for Chevrolet.

Other mods include the Z-spec bodywork add-ons, 19-inch alloys, a flat-bottom steering wheel, performance seats, Z-Spec trim pedals and unique trim.

A high-flow exhaust system, a lower coil-over suspension and a more powerful braking system complete the list of upgrades.
