While General Motors may be taking a swipe at Chrysler with its announcement on the recovery of a stolen 300 sedan equipped with its aftermarket OnStar FMV system, the Auburn Hills-based carmaker had its own moment of Zen with a new commercial on the Dodge Grand Caravan.

The 30-second ad is called “The Right Tool for the Job” and it’s part of a new campaign for the Dodge Grand Caravan that will be followed by four more spots in the first quarter of 2012.

The first spot we see here highlights the advantages of a minivan while making fun -in a tongue-and-cheek sort of way- of other motorists that misuse their vehicles by overloading them with various goods. For some reason, all the cars that Dodge makes fun of in the clip are from GM’s now defunct Pontiac and Saturn brands.

Ironically, the Chrysler Group’s future plans do not include the Grand Caravan which will be killed in the U.S. (but not in Canada) as the company wants to stop offering duplicate products.

Hop over the jump to watch the spot for yourself.
