A one-off Military Tribute Camaro designed by award-winning artist Mickey Harris is heading to the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Arizona auction that takes place from January 15 to 22, 2012, and all for good reason as General Motors announced today that it plans to give all proceeds from the sale will benefit the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans.

The Achilles program helps wounded veterans of all services to overcome their injuries through mainstream athletic events, primarily marathons.

“We at Chevrolet want to do all we can to show our gratitude to the men and women serving in our armed forces, those who come home with life-changing injuries, like Cpl. Gaertner, and our fallen heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country,” said Chris Perry, vice president, Chevrolet Global Marketing and Strategy.

The star and stripes Camaro specials was designed to represent all five branches of the armed forces, which include the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard, as well as some of the U.S. military’s highest individual awards and current campaign medals that are depicted on the body.
