While the new BRZ coupe and the Sports Advance Tourer concept are the ones to watch out for at Subaru’s Tokyo Motor Show stand, the Japanese automaker also revealed the much more important from a sales perspective, domestic market versions of its new Impreza.
In Japan, Subaru will market the five-door hatchback model under the Sport designation and the four-door sedan as the G4. Both body styles are identical to the North American models that were introduced earlier this year.
The fourth generation of the Impreza will reach Japanese dealerships on December 20 offering buyers a choice of two engines, a new 1.6-liter flat-four with 115HP and 148Nm of torque that replaces the 1.5-liter unit used in the previous model, and a 2.0-liter boxer rated at 150HP and 196Nm, in either FWD or AWD trim.
