While not a leak in the strictest sense, the ghost of the 2013 Ford Fusion sedan made an unexpected (but hasty appearance) on Ford’s dedicated iPad application giving us our first look at the mid-size sedan model that will be officially revealed on Monday at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.
Being that the 2013 Fusion is one and the same with the next generation of the global Mondeo that will debut at a later date, it shouldn’t come to much of a surprise that the design is an evolution of the current European Mondeo sprinkled with styling cues found on the Frankfurt Motor Show Evos Concept.
Ford may have done away with its Aston Martin shares, but the Detroit company’s designers had no problem looking at the British sports car maker’s portfolio for inspiration when it came to the Fusion’s front grille which is the same as the one found on the also new C-MAX hybrids.
We’ll remind you that according to out intel, the 2013 Ford Fusion will be available with a choice of two turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engines and a pair of hybrids. More to come so stay tuned…
