Created in just 22 weeks from scratch by Nissan’s UK arm, the Juke-R concept brings together two of the most successful yet also most diverse models in Nissan’s range. We’ve been following its development for a while now and this week Nissan finally confirmed the final performance numbers for the wild crossover model.
The GT-R sourced 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 is rated at 485bhp and 580Nm (427.7 lb-ft) with all that power being deliver to the road through the same transmission and all-wheel drive setup found on the coupe.
According to Nissan, the Juke-R completes the 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint in just 3.7 seconds, before continuing on to a top speed of 257km/h (160mph).
The Japanese company is quick to add that in a straight line, the GT-R’s more aerodynamic shape helps it achieve a higher top speed despite the same power plant being used in both models.
And even though it’s more compact than the GT-R, the Juke-R is heavier tipping the scales at 1,806 kg (3,981 pounds) because of the roll cage and extra chassis reinforcement that were required to place the supercar’s components into the small crossover’s body.
While development of the Juke-R may be over, this doesn’t mean that Nissan will stop milking the GT-R-powered model for publicity as the Japanese company states that it is going to release more videos of the car on the road in the coming days/weeks.
According to Nissan, up until now, the 10-part video series has achieved over 2.2 million views in 10 weeks.
